About Louise LaFever

In August of 2005, our daughter-in-law gave me a premature birthday gift of a class in bead making from Marion Ogle at M & D Designs in Chinook, Washington. That class covered basic bead making on a torch (lampworking) and we also made some fused Dichroic Cabochon's. Well, that day changed my life! One lesson and I was in love (for the second time)!

Since that day, my husband (Bill) accommodated my glass work in the garage while our car was parked in the drive way. In the fall of 2006 we got serious and purchased a 10 x 12 foot "Tuff Shed" and had it placed on a concrete floor. From there, Bill designed and built my studio.

Because we live in the Seattle area, I was able to take some classes at the Pratt Fine Art Institute from Larry Brickman and Stacy Frost. I still attend classes at M & D Designs because they have so many fine instructors such as Kimberly Affleck and Stephanie Sersich which I have enjoyed so much and have learned a great deal from.

I always look forward to when my daily chores are complete so that I can "RELAX" in my studio while my CD player pumps out my favorite tunes. Of course, I am still learning and I hope to do so for a long time to come.
